Part 5 - Crafting
The crafting system is used by the Humans and Arzent in order to create or deconstruct items, armor, and weapons that are useful to them. Both items and materials have tiers, giving you basic knowledge of how good the item is. For example, a tier 1 pistol is not as powerful or fast as a tier 2 pistol, which is not as good as a tier 3, etc. Each item is made up of materials, (such as metals, binding, wire, fabric, plastics, etc.) which can be found randomly when role-playing. If you find a material, a staff member will pm you to let you know. Below is a table containing the different materials and the different tiers of these materials.
Other materials exist outside of this table, but either don't have a tier, or are considered obsolete. Tier 7 materials can only be easily obtained by the Arzent. The Humans can only achieve Tier 7 by stealing from the Arzent, or imbuing a Tier 6 item with magic. Also to note, every tier of a material that does not have a name is simply a higher quality version of the previous named material.
Below is a list of the known recipes for items and who can craft them. If you want to craft an item, please make an OOC note in your post using the quote tool explaining what you made, and with which materials. The staff will let you know what tier the item is. I'll start it off with some basic items, weapons and armor and add to it regularly. The additions will mostly be played by ear, as I'll allow pretty much anything, and I'm not going to put together recipes for a bunch of items and limit the crafting system to them. If you wish for an item to be added to the recipe list, please pm me. Any brand new inventions will only be able to be created by Norms or Slyn'var, and after being out in the world and having been thoroughly inspected by any of the other sub-classes, can be crafted by all sub-classes of that race. Although, because they are brand-new, they will probably require creating multiple prototypes and thus require many more resources. The craftable items, such as pistols, that don't have a precise identification, can be specified by the crafter.
Can be created by all sub-classes of the race.

Humans:
Pistol: 3 Materials, 1 Wire
Shotgun: 5 Materials, 1 Wire
Sniper Rifle: 6 Materials, 2 Wire, 1 Glass
Upgrades:
Some of the crafted items can be upgraded with more materials to make them better. You can only craft upgrades if you have crafted the item it is an upgrade for. Below is a list of known upgrades and their recipes:
Any Gun:
Semi-automatic: 1 Material, 2 Wire
Fully Automatic (Requires Semi-automatic): 2 Materials, 4 Wire
Scope (Non-sniper rifles only): 2 Materials, 1 Glass
Suppressor: 2 Materials
Infusion:
Infusion is the combination of magic and technology. The crafted items must be upgraded with an Infusion Chamber, which requires a special material that is very rare, a Magic Stone. These stones are usually hidden in caves and temples throughout the world, some even in The Cleansed Land, having survived The Cleansing by being built underground. These stones each correspond to a specific element, and, when combined with two of the appropriate materials, create an Infusion Chamber. When infused with the corresponding element of magic by a Mage, the item gains a tier, and gains a special ability based on the magic that it was infused with. This is the only way for Humans to create Tier 7 gear.
Bioshifting:
Bioshifting is a method used by the Arzent to create Biosteel. The item that is to be bioshifted is put in a large vat of water-borne biological organisms native to the Arzent's homeworld. These organisms change the composition of the metals used in the item and eventually transform it into Biosteel. The lower tier the gear is when it begins bioshifting, the longer it will take to become Biosteel. This is the only way for Arzent to create Tier 7 gear.
Dismantling:
Old gear can be dismantled into its crafting materials in order to use these materials to craft something else. Not all the materials are returned however, and neither Biosteel items, nor Infused items can be dismantled. This is because the Biosteel has become one seamless piece, and cannot be cut apart; and the Infused items are being held together by the magic from the Magic Stone. Be sure to pick up any weapons you can from enemies while you are out and about, as this is the quickest way to gain many materials for future crafting.
Type of Material | Tier 1 | Tier 2 | Tier 3 | Tier 4 | Tier 5 | Tier 6 | Tier 7 |
Weapon Materials | Steel | T2 | Graphene | T4 | T5 | T6 | Biosteel |
Armor Materials | Kevlar | T2 | Graphene | T4 | T5 | T6 | Biosteel |
Plastics | T1 | T2 | T3 | T4 | T5 | T6 | Neoplastic |
Wire | Gold-plated Copper | T2 | Graphene | T4 | T5 | T6 | Biosteel |
Fabric | Cuben Fibers | T2 | T3 | T4 | T5 | T6 | Neoplastic Fibers |
String/Binding | Cuben Fibers | T2 | T3 | T4 | T5 | T6 | Neoplastic Fibers |
Glass | Bullet-proof Glass | T2 | T3 | T4 | T5 | T6 | Neoplastiglass |
